The catalogue to the Ukrainian Pavilion at the 59th International Art Exhibition in Venice relates the history, different contexts, and varying interpretations of Pavlo Makov’s ‘The Fountain of Exhaustion’ over the years. The exhibition is the first time the work, originally conceived in 1995, has ever been displayed as a fully functional art object. Featuring a comprehensive chronological account of the Fountain’s development up to the present time, the book also includes a selection of archive materials illustrating the work’s evolution.
